As you may know,
Fender Musical Instruments Corporation teamed up with Volkswagen for its premium 9-speaker sound system. However, you could trace Fender's ties with the auto industry all the way back to more than a half-century ago.
Olympic White, Fiesta Red, Lake Placid Blue; does that ring any bell? Some will mention their father's Cadillac, an icon of success for Americans. Others will refer to the colours used by General Motors during the '50s and '60s. Not many will remember the connection between the world's number one automaker and Fender instruments.
That's right: The vintage colours that define some of Fender's musical instruments are the same as Cadillac, Oldsmobile, Buick and even Corvette models from the good ol' days!
These vibrant finishes evoke long road trips in a convertible and the growl of the 409 big-block engine. They're also reminiscent of The Beach Boys, classic rock n' roll, and of course the original Woodstock.
