Taking performance to the masses
Straight line acceleration and wet/dry braking
Both are simple enough exercises, but were the most telling for the end-line consumer. This was the most scientific part of the test as times and distances were measured. Each driver was accompanied by an instructor.

With precise orders, the driver would repeat exactly the same assignments. In the vast majority of cases, the Infiniti G37s equipped with the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3s outperformed the others shod with Bridgestone and Yokohama tires by a telling margin.

The conclusion
At the end of the day, the final conclusion was simple enough to make: The Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3s demonstrated their superior abilities in all situations. Brake pedal feel was improved as was performance; steering, turn-in, and stability all seem more workable and user-friendly.

My favourite aspect of the P/S A/S 3s was the lateral grip. In fact, this is its greatest strength (much like the Xi3s).

This experience has made me a believer in three-season tires, but for Canada and a large portion of northern United Sates, nothing will ever replace a good winter tire. I should probably take back “nothing” since not so long ago; nothing could have replaced a pure summer tire…

The Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 will be available in 65 sizes by late summer.
