So much has been said about Mazda’s latest ND generation Miata that well, there was only one thing left to say:

Coming this spring, the 2016 Mazda MX-5 will be available with the optional GS Sport Package. Remember, the GS already sports 17” wheels with 205/45R17 rubber, Bilstein shocks and, if keep the delightful 6-speed manual gearbox, you’ll also get a limited-slip differential and a front shock tower brace.

The Sport Package tacks on the following:

  • Unique, sexy 17” forged BBS wheels
  • Brembo front brakes
  • Heated and Alcantara covered RECARO seats

Let me put it this way: If you were to buy a new MX-5, passing up on this option would be foolish.

I’ve experienced the effects of the package on a few occasions last year and you’ll not regret it. The ride quality remains top notch while handling leaps forward with increased body control, less roll and more feel. The last time I drove one was on that fabled day, covered in Spirit R ecstasy. Want to know more about the new MX-5? Here’s my 1st impression review

As of yet, pricing for the package has not been announced. I’m guessing it will hover between $3,000 and $4,000.
