2011 Mazda CX-7 GT Review
Monday, October 31, 2011
I've talked previously about the importance of first impressions and how significantly they influence whether the chequebook is pulled or the potential purchase is pulled. By "first impressions", I'm not talking about a salesman's penchant for polyester but rather what the vehicle in question communicates at first sight, followed by first drive.

2011 Mazda MX-5 Special Version Review
Monday, September 19, 2011
Few cars can ever be perfect. They may come close (Matt would chime in with the BMW 1M here), but few ever truly achieve perfection, and there's a reason for that. Cars are built for different purposes, different times in one's life, different budgets and so on. So, what might be perfect for one is far from it for another. And so the endless search for automotive perfection continues.

As spring rolled in, our editorial team at the office got some great news: three members of our gang were going to be new, first-time parents. 2011 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet Review
Sunday, August 14, 2011
Perhaps it was the precision of the Porsche's steering or the immediacy of power underfoot, but the 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet was a sheer delight on the secondary highways of southwest BC. My 16-year old son and I embraced the opportunity to take this week's tester on an overnight road trip to Savona, B.C. from Vancouver, focusing on routes less traveled. The only criteria: they had to be paved.

2012 Ford Mustang GT Convertible Review
Tuesday, July 26, 2011
The difference is under the hood. That's where you'll find 412 raw horsepower speaking loudly to anyone that'll listen. It's not a quiet steed, nor is it docile, but it's a tremendously rewarding pony for those with a lust for performance and a heart for nostalgia.

2011 Mazda CX-9 GT Review
Tuesday, July 19, 2011
Sometimes family cars can be a bit blah. No offense to any automakers out there, of course, but when practical 2.45-children family vehicles are put on the road, they're usually on the more mundane side. From ho-hum designs to interiors that serve more purpose than pleasure, it's often hard to get excited about your people carrier.

German roads
Monday, June 27, 2011
We must study them, emulate them and do like them. We all know that Europe is a millennium up on us but does that mean that we North Americans will always be a thousand years behind? "That's preposterous, Matt, stop talking trash!" I won't 'cause we just don't and won't get it. What we've got is everything back-asswards.

2011 Volkswagen Golf GTI Edition 35 First Impressions
Friday, June 24, 2011
History tells us that 1976 was, as every year is, tumultuous, heart warming and exciting. 2011 Volkswagen GTI 5-door Review
Tuesday, June 07, 2011
While road testing the 2011 VW GTI, I tweeted Auto123 followers, asking if the GTI could be the poor man's (or woman's) Panamera. They're both German performance machines available with dual-clutch automatic transmissions and four passenger-accommodating doors but they're miles apart in cost.

2011 Ford Mustang GT Review
Wednesday, May 18, 2011
Every time I drive a Mustang, I'm astounded to see how this soon-to-be-50-year-old model continues to win over American muscle car enthusiasts, young and not so young drivers who all seem to worship at the same altar.
