This month Ford proudly revealed that the new 2012 Ford Focus Electric will be the first all-electric five-seat vehicle to achieve a fuel efficiency rating of 100 MPGe. This sneaks it just ahead of Nissan LEAF, with a 99 MPGe rating, but a fair shot below the four-seat Mitsubishi i-MiEV, with its 112 MPGe rating.

While participating in the 2011 Montreal Green Rally, Auto123.com's Marc-André Hallé and Olivier Delorme stumbled upon a pretty strange happening: the organizers chose to use a good old gas-powered generator to charge the Chevrolet Volt, Toyota Prius Plug-In and Mitsubishi i-MiEV.

Finally, they have arrived. We've waited years for electric vehicles to find their way into dealerships, and within the next few months we'll be getting five of them: the Chevrolet Volt, the Nissan LEAF, the Ford Focus Electric, the Ford Transit Connect Electric and the subject of this test, Mitsubishi's diminutive i-MiEV.

Hydro-Québec and Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada Inc. (MMSCAN) are pleased to announce that the first five all-electric i-MiEVs have arrived in Boucherville and are currently being prepared for their new drivers. Once installation of the data logging equipment that will be used during the trials is complete, Boucherville Mayor, Jean Martel, and employees from the City of Boucherville, the Centre de santé et de services sociaux Pierre-Boucher and Hydro-Québec will be able to pick up the test vehicles, just in time for the holidays.

TOKYO, Japan -- Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) will host the world premiere of the North American version of its i-MiEV new-generation electric vehicle at the Los Angeles Auto Show (LAAS) held at the Los Angeles Convention Center from Wednesday, November 17 to Sunday November 28 (open to the general public from Friday, November 19). In addition, the Outlander Sport compact CUV (RVR in Japan, ASX in Europe), which is to go on sale in the North American market from the end of this year, as well as other core vehicles for the North American market are planned for display at the LAAS.

These three vehicles represent the fulfillment of a promise made by MMSCAN to the Government of British Columbia, BC Hydro and the City of Vancouver on April 6, 2009, with respect to providing i-MiEV cars for testing and evaluation.
