2012 Volkswagen Passat TDI vs 2011 Kia Optima Hybrid
Friday, March 30, 2012
This comparison test pits two cars that, between the pair of them, have garnered more awards and nominations than Jack Nicholson and Meryl Streep combined. These are good cars in the best sense of the word.

2011 Kia Optima Hybrid Premium Review
Sunday, December 11, 2011
Perhaps it's delusions of grandeur, but I see a hint of the Jaguar XF in the roofline and tail of the 2011 Kia Optima. This week's Optima Hybrid tester doesn't perform like the British cat, but it does use less fuel and can be acquired for less a small fortune.

Have We Reached Infotainment Saturation?
Thursday, October 20, 2011
Yesterday, I drove the family, including in-laws, to Thanksgiving dinner. The vehicle of choice was this week's tester, the 2011 Kia Optima Hybrid equipped with an optional Premium Technology Package, which interfaced through a 7-inch touch-screen in addition to voice-activated navigation. But this was not the only LCD screen onboard.

2010 Cadillac SRX AWD Premium Review
Tuesday, December 22, 2009
It used to be that Cadillac was the benchmark for just about every other car company. In the glory years of the Eldorado and DeVille (post-WWII era), these exceptional automobiles were considered as design and engineering icons. Unfortunately, they failed to stay at the top of their game over the next few decades and the proud Cadillac soon became "your grandfather's Caddy."

2010 Jaguar XKR and XFR leap in Toronto
Wednesday, February 11, 2009
To stay competitive in the high-end luxury segment, Jaguar is updating the engine bays of both the XK and XF models. The XK Portfolio coupe and convertible, which will be the base models, get a 5.0-litre V8 in replacement of the old 4.2-litre unit, producing 385 hp and 385 lb-ft of torque. 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) acceleration times are reduced to 5.2 seconds.

2009 Jaguar XF Premium Luxury Review
Wednesday, October 08, 2008
I been in this journo game for knocking on 5 years now and yet this is the first time that I've managed to scoop a British Jaguar to review. Now maybe that's because I have a bit of a background in Jaguar. After all, I did once own an independent Jaguar workshop. I was also a member of the Ontario Jaguar Owners' Club for many years and judged several of their JCNA concourse events.

2006 Acura CSX Premium Road Test
Friday, April 28, 2006
Diehard fans of The Simpsons TV series will recall when Homer's ruined half-brother, Herb, knocks on the Simpsons' door and asks for money. Previously the head of a car manufacturer, he was forced to bankruptcy thanks to--who else?--Homer, who was asked by half-brother to design his latest vehicle.

2005 Acura RSX Premium (Video Clip)
Tuesday, June 07, 2005
The successor to the Integra, the RSX, has not garnered the same success as the original. Launched in 2002, the RSX was only marginally larger, taller and heavier than the Integra but it was clear that it had lost the edge. Even the almighty Type-S is not the sports car that the impressive Type-R was. The Integra had a cult-like following because of its no-holds-barred potential. The RSX is posh in comparison and has not stricken the same cord with the enthusiasts.

2005 Acura EL Premium Road Test
Wednesday, May 11, 2005
The Acura EL is a plain-Jane kind of car, in my opinion. It offers reliable and comfortable transportation with a few extra goodies like an optional leather-trimmed interior and such amenities as power windows and locks, keyless entry, optional power-operated moonroof, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS and EBD, alloy wheels, air conditioning and cruise control, but it's not a vehicle that knocks my socks off. However, my driving experiences with the EL have always been pleasant and relaxed.

Gone is the dash-mounted flower vase in the latest version of Volkswagen's Bug. Gone too is much of its cutesiness, replaced by a notable degree of sportiness intended to broaden the Beetle's target market by attracting male attention.
