Porsche Motorsport is introducing a brand-new 991-based GT3 Cup car to the GT3 Cup Challenge Canada ahead of the 2014 season.

And competitors are ceasing the opportunity, as 8 of the 10 new 911 GT3 Cup cars available have already left the showroom for a new race shop.

"The healthy number of next-generation 911 GT3 Cup car orders already placed speaks highly to the level of commitment the teams reserve for the series," said Alexander Pollich, President & CEO, Porsche Cars Canada, Ltd.

Former Canadian Touring Car Championship (CTCC) champion Étienne Borgeat will return to the GT3 Cup Challenge in 2014, leading a three-car effort from GT Racing alongside teammates JF Laberge and André Belzile.

"We can't wait to get the new cars," admitted team principal Eric Cote.

Miami-based Ansa Motorsports and driver Ludovico Manfredi are expected to race full-time this year in Canada, with the help of MOMO, which is expanding its Canadian presence.

No word yet on where the 10-race schedule of the 2014 season will take the series.
