The Renault-Nissan Alliance has just set an industry record with 100,000 EVs sold in a single year.

Since December 2010, when the Nissan LEAF first hit the market, EV sales for the French-Japanese giant have exceeded 350,000 units.

With more than 230,000 copies sold, the LEAF remains the world’s best-selling EV ever.

"This historic milestone confirms our customers' recognition of the benefits of Renault and Nissan electric vehicles," Alliance Chairman and CEO Carlos Ghosn said. "Our commitment to contribute toward a zero-emissions world by bringing to the market a full range of affordable EVs makes Renault-Nissan the indisputable leader in EV technology."

In addition to the Nissan LEAF, the Renault-Nissan Alliance sells the Nissan e-NV200, Renault ZOE, Kangoo Z.E., SM3 Z.E., and the 2-passenger Twizy, which is now available in Canada.
