Tesla’s Autopilot system, introduced on October 15th and widely praised/criticized ever since, is ready for a global rollout. The lone exception is Japan, where tests are still ongoing, CEO Elon Musk announced on Twitter.

Autopilot turns the Tesla Model S into a semi-autonomous vehicle, which doesn’t mean drivers should take their hands off the steering wheel. Musk also tweeted that an update is coming soon, offering curve speed adaption, controlled smoothness, better lane holding on poor roads, and improved fleet learning.
