London, England - A number of new vehicles made their debut at the British Motor Show this year, but perhaps the most important, and possibly the most relevant to us (as it's rumored to be coming here), was the New Lotus Evora.

Now I'm sure that some of you have already seen spy shots of it, but let me tell you, when the covers finally came off the Evora, the crowd in the UK literally went wild. Now I've attended quite a few unveilings in my time but when the motoring press gets themselves that worked over a vehicle launch, then the manufacturer knows that they're onto a winner.

To me the new Evora carries much of the current Elise/Exige look to it. That's not a bad thing, in my opinion, because who can deny that those two are both drop dead gorgeous. However, it has to be said that they are also a little tight in the cockpit area and slightly awkward to get in and out of. This is perhaps a bigger problem for Lotus over here than in Europe, as we North Americans live in the world of fast food restaurants and drive-through everything!

Obviously, we would prefer a slightly larger Lotus, not only for the obvious reason mentioned above, but also because we tend to prefer bigger vehicles in general. Our roads are wider, and we typically cover greater distances in our vehicles, therefore comfort is extremely important to us.

Enter the Evora, larger, more spacious, and its styling gives the Evora a much more grown up appearance than current Lotus offerings. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that it propels the present lineup from small racy playthings into true super cars.

Of course we can expect a slight price premium to go along with that increase in size, but from what I hear on the ground, if we work the exchange rate on the price sterling that's being mentioned in the UK, then the $100k Canadian figure pops up. Now in my book, that sounds a downright bargain for what you're getting, and probably makes it the most inexpensive exotic super car on the block today.

Let's take a little closer look at what you'll get from the new Evora...
