Some major surprises and a new No. 1 highlight this year's list of the top 10 most frequently stolen vehicles in Canada as published by the Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC).
For the first time since its introduction, the Toyota Venza (2009MY) became the most coveted vehicle among thieves. It replaces the 2000 Honda Civic SiR, which had been dominating these rankings for a few years.
Shockingly, the 2001 Pontiac Aztek made the list at No. 8, ahead of the 1998 and 1999 Acura Integra coupes.
How can this be? Well, the IBC calculates thefts based on the number of units insured across Canada.
Without further ado, here's the black list that you should probably avoid if you don't want to pay hefty insurance premiums and run the risk of finding your vehicle missing.
