The new year is off to a terrible start for Volkswagen, which has just been hit with $20 billion civil and criminal lawsuit by the U.S. government for rigging 600,000 diesel cars.
Last September, the automaker publicly admitted that 11 million vehicles worldwide used special software designed to bypass emissions rules during tests.
AFP mentioned a civil lawsuit on its Twitter account, while CBC News also reported criminal lawsuits.
