XENATEC announced the world premiere of its Maybach-based coupe which will make a first public appearance next week in a specially constructed pavilion in the gardens of “La Réserve” Hotel, on the banks of Lake Geneva, at the same time than the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, arguably the biggest stage in the automotive world.

Designer Fredrik Burchhardt originally came up with the idea to transform the ultra-high luxury sedan into a sleek two-door coupe while retaining its twin-turbo V12 engine and 5-speed automatic transmission. The goal is to make owners want to sit behind the wheel instead of relaxing in the back and being chauffeured around.

The body has undergone dramatic surgery. New doors, a lower roofline, a matte finish multi-layer paint job as well as more aggressive windshield and rear window angles give the XENATEC coupe a totally unique look.

The lavish interior is a combination of buffalo hide in its natural, non-dyed mid-brown, dark nappa leather in espresso brown and blackberry Alcantara. A custom-built panorama roof and headliner finished in nappa leather add a touch of absolute exclusivity.

The company previously announced that a limited number of units will be hand-built in Germany and sold for 675,000 €.
