Canadian Touring: Nigel Krikorian and Andre Rapone win in Mosport

Ontario driver Nigel Krikorian won both Super Touring races of the Canadian Touring Car Championship held this past weekend, at Mosport International Raceway; both times in front of Andrew Wojteczko’s Lexus IS300.

Ontario driver Nigel Krikorian won both Super Touring races of the Canadian Touring Car Championship held this past weekend, at Mosport International Raceway.

Quebecker Mathieu Audette completed the Super Touring podium on Saturday, but was unable to repeat his success on Sunday, leaving third place to Nicolas Krikorian, and forth position to Richard Boake.

As for the Touring Class, Andre Rapone also dominated the charts, once in front of his brother Anthony and then in front of Alain Lauzière, who was third on Saturday. Auto123.com’s Nigel Heron completed the Touring podium on Sunday.

Benjamin Distaulo finished a brilliant forth on Sunday in his first race in the series. Distaulo decided to join the CCTCC during the off-season after the apparent disappearance of the Echo Cup in Quebec.

Saturday’s race saw only seven of its 15 laps run under caution flags.

The series return in two weeks, at Mirabel’s old airport site, the ICAR Complex, for the Grand Prix of Mirabel.
