ASN Canada FIA and the Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship Presented by Toyo Tires are pleased to announce that a sanctioning agreement has been reached for the next three years. ASN Canada FIA is the national sanctioning authority for automobile sport in Canada and is so recognized by the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). ASN's President Roger Peart stated, "This is an important championship for motorsport enthusiasts in Canada. Canadian racers have shown their interest in the Championship and ASN looks forward to many years of close and exciting racing under the leadership of Championship President, John Bondar." "ASN sanctioning has helped the Championship to achieve its vision of becoming a truly national Championship," stated John Bondar. The Championship has grown from grassroots racing to become the premier touring car championship in Canada. In 2007, the Championship averaged 48 competitors each weekend, who raced in front of over 200,000 spectators. Touring Cars?
G'day From Australia,
What are your touring cars? Here we run V8 5 litre supercars, either HOLDENS or the other ones, fords Our biggest race is the Bathurst 1000km race. In your current story above there is no mention of what type of cars you run, where they are run, ie: on an oval track or road racing like we do here. Anyone who has watched the Aussie V8 supercars will know that we have the best motor racing in the world. Log onto aussiev8supercars (not the true wording for the website) this weekend for some fantastic viewing & racing. How about some pictures for viewing.
