Schmidt Peterson Motorsports driver James Hinchcliffe fears that rival teams Penske Racing and Andretti Autosport are benefitting from a headstart in 2015.
Both got a taste of the updated Dallara DW12 before everybody else, as they helped develop the new aero package. "I think Penske and Andretti head into the first race with a bit of an advantage," the Oakville native told the Toronto Sun last week. The rest of the field will only get two days of testing, March 15th and 16th at Barber Motorsports Park, before the season kicks off in St. Petersburg two weeks later. "(The) ideal situation would have been as soon as the checkered flag fell at Fontana (last August), everybody would have had body kits showing up at the shop the following Monday and we could have been working during this long off-season," Hinchcliffe also told the Toronto Sun. "But it is what it is," he concludes.
