IRL: FAZZT Racing team is taking shape

The only Canadian team to be involved in the IndyCar series for 2010, the FAZZT Race Team is continuing to take shape with the addition of key personnel as well as completing its own installations in Indianapolis.

Formed in July of this year as a partnership between André Azzi, Jim Freudenberg and Jason Priestley, FAZZT Racing will have veteran driver Alex Tagliani behind the wheel of the team’s #77 entry for next season.

Rob Edwards will serve as the General Manager while long-time Patrick Racing and KV Racing veteran Don Oldenburg will act as Crew Chief. Allen MacDonald will join the team after a successful eight-year stint with Andretti Green Racing where he served as Chief Engineer for among others Dario Franchitti.

Key positions for the technical research and design division that is based in Montreal still have to be filled.

The team is expecting delivery of all four of its Dallara chassis bought from Roth Racing next week. Their first on-track shakedown is scheduled for Homestead-Miami Speedway and Sebring Raceway in January.

The team also has plans to announce its sponsors and car livery in January at the Montreal Auto Show.
