Kevin Harvick claimed his third NCWTS win of the season (second in-a-row) taking his Chevrolet Silverado to victory lane on Saturday night. He led four times for 108 of 136 laps to clinch the Owner’s Championship.
Matt Crafton in another Silverado, finished second in yesterday night’s race and in the standings after a season-long battle with Hornaday. It is the best final point standings finish for Crafton in his 10-year NCWTS career. Harvick’s driver, Ron Hornaday Jr. clinched the driver’s championship last week in Phoenix. His first title came in 1996. He holds the top spot in number of race wins in the series with 45 to date. Rick Ren is also the winningest NCWTS crew chief with a total of 27 trips to victory lane. In claiming both the 2009 NCWTS driver and owner crowns, Kevin Harvick Inc. claimed nine victories this season. Hornaday captured his title with six wins this season adding to Harvick’s three.
