Canadian driver Alex Tagliani made some history this past week in Johnsonville outside Barrie, Ontario. Starting 4th on the grid, Tagliani took the lead by mid-race and never looked back. In fact, the rest of the Leland Industries 300 field saw him lap them all in an unprecedented performance for stock car racing in Canada. A long-distance running enthusiast, the 25-year-old Iowa native ran the gruelling event combining a 1.2 mile swim, 56-mile mountainous bike loop and 13.1-mile run in 4 hours 47 minutes to finish 143rd overall.
