Expecations were high this week-end for Sébastien Loeb and Robert Kubica. Neither finished very well at the Monte-Carlo rally, but both drove very well.
Loeb, in his one-off return to the WRC, finished a modest 8th, after rejoining the event under Rally2 regulations Saturday. Despite everyhting, he won five special stages to bring his career total to 905.
"When he started the first stage, it was as if Daniel (Elena) and I had never stopped," admitted Loeb.

"The conditions didn't favour us, and a little mistake cost us a lot. But it didn't take away the fun in the car. It was really a great experience for Daniel, at home, and me."
Meanwhile, Kubica had to retire from the event after the penultimate stage because of brake problems. Before doing so, he had time to score four special stage wins aboard his own Ford Fiesta.
