Video: 75th anniversary of the famous Silver Arrow
For 75 years, the words Mercedes-Benz and “Silver Arrow” have been inseparably connected to each other. The era of the Silver Arrow started 1934 with the Formula Racing car W25. The models W125, W154 and W196 then followed.
For the anniversary for “75 years of Silver Arrow”, an imposing parade with these historical vehicles took place. On the test track in Stuttgart, Mercedes-Benz drivers Lewis Hamilton, Ralf Schumacher and Hans Herrmann reviewed history again with the original racing cars. Lewis Hamilton drove the freshly restored W25, which hadn’t been in use since 30 years. Before the driving demonstration, Lewis Hamilton was present for the introduction of his Vodafone McLaren Mercedes MP4-23 into the Mercedes-Benz Museum – the vehicle with which he von the champion title in 2008. This car is now part of the world’s biggest Silver arrow collection. Photos: Mercedes-Benz
