Review:
The numbers lie. This is a car that has to be driven before passing judgement. If you want to drive it like a normal small car, it can do that really well. This car comes alive when you push it. It's so hard not to drive this car hard. It's begging you to do it. Hit the gas in a turn, and the tail will spin out just like that.
I really like the different settings for the traction, and stability control. It does make a difference, you can chirp the tires, or leave long black stripes at will. Yeah, it's no Mustang...it's better. In the twisty roads, you can take turns at ridiculous speeds, enough to leave you nauseous. She handles as if glued to the road.
Getting in and out can be a problem because the car is so low. The back seats, well they're just for show, and the visibility on my left blind spot is basically zero. All of these things are really no surprise, this is a sports car! The looks will blow you away, the car looks so much better in person, than in the photos. You really don't realize how low, and wide it is.
The things I like best are the seats are really great, very comfortable. The engine sounds great, it really has a low growl that you wouldn't expect. In the high rpm's it screams. The key-less access is really cool, and the nav unit works shockingly well. Even with my hard driving, I'm getting about 8.0L/100kms average, which is really nice.
The only really major gripe is I find the manual transmission to be very notchy. It's almost like it gated, but not centered. It can be difficult to engage the gears sometimes. And I've always driven manual, so it's not me.
One thing if you get one, is be prepared to get noticed. People are always coming up to me to ask what is it, or other questions. There will only be 500 in Canada for this model year, so exclusivity is a big plus. This car basically crippled me financially (even though it's a good value, I don't make much money), but it was the best decision I ever made!
