All-time Volkswagen Golf production reaches 30 million units

The 30 millionth Volkswagen Golf has just rolled out of the factory in Wolfsburg, Germany. The milestone model was a Golf TDI BlueMotion, which happens to be the most fuel-efficient Golf ever built with a European rating of 3.2L/100km.

Interbrand has published the results of its annual study of green brands around the world. This year's top 50 includes the likes of Siemens, Apple, and Nestlé, as well as nine automakers -- some of which have made a spectacular jump from their 2011 position.

You may remember that Volkswagen introduced the CrossBlue Concept in Detroit this past January. This time at Auto Shanghai 2013, the German automaker unveiled a coupe variant that hints at a possible BMW X6 competitor.
