	Red Light Rear seat room is negligible. Particularly if the front driver and passenger are taller people. The cloth seat is some type of velor like material that attracts all kinds of things. Not good for dogs and/or kids.
	Yellow Light The earlier diesel engines are prone to coke buildup in the ECG system. Getting this cleared is labor intensive and if done by a shop can be expensive. The timing belt is prone to wear and needs to be inspected and replaced on a semi-regular basis. Ground clearance in front is definitely lower than cars of this category and the plastic factory skid pan unsuitable for North American climates/road conditions. I replaced mine, when it fell off, with an aluminum after market product. Felt much better about driving on a regular basis with this plate. The rubber bushings for the front sway bar are prone to wear and cause it to make noise when worn. Replacement was not very difficult and poly bushings improved handling and wear characteristics.
	Green Light A true "Sport" sedan. Very nimble in traffic and there is nothing on the market - then, or now that can beat the performance of the TDI drivetrain. Even before mod'ing, this vehicle cornered and handled roads like a sport car. Parking is very easy and finding a space also easy because it is a shorter vehicle.

Review:

This vehicle is definitely not for everyone. But, the yellow and red notes are nullified by far by the drive train and handling of this vehicle. It really is a "driver's car".

Review:

Ce sont des voitures superbes. Je suis rendu à ma quatrième Jetta, tous de la nouvelle génération, Jetta 4. Questions électronique, quelques problèmes, mais rien de vraiment fatiguants. Exemples : vitres électriques, climatisation, serrures... pour en donné quelques uns. Tous de petits problèmes, réparés par la garantie du manufacturier. Mais pour le moteur, je n'ai jamais eu un seul problème. Et croyez moi, je suis un grand amateur de vitesse. J'ai même eu une TDI 2001 que j'ai monté à plus de 400 000 KM avec laquelle je n'ai jamais de problème avec le moteur. Donc, si vous recherchez une voiture qui à du coeur au ventre, luxueuse et comfortable, vous faites le bon choix avec Volkswagen.
