Évaluation:
This is my 5th Corvette and it's the most enjoyable one that I've owned. It's taken the engineers at GM some time to get it right (like putting the parking brake on the driver's right side instead of his left in-front of the door, which makes it impossible to get out of the car i.e. my 1996), but I think that they've finally succeeded in making the perfect ride!!! The vehicle is the closest thing to perfect that I can imagine.
The Coupe has lots of interior space and with the bubble back entry making entry and retreval of luggage easy. I'm a SCUBA diver and their's enough room for two divers to take all of the necessary equipment to the dive site i.e. tanks, suits, knives and other truck that goes with the sport.
There's lot of occupant room, but I can't comment on the Z06 or convertible. I prefer the Coupe to the Z06 or convertible because of the clear roof that's only available on the Coupe. It's like riding in a convertible all year round without the hair and other articles being blown around (a good feature for the ladies). I'm sure that some people like the extra power that the Z06 can provide, but the standard Vette has plenty of performance and this comes with good gas economy (about 32 mpg on the highway at 100 kmh).
The car's easy to handle, with no appreciable under or over steer. Visibility and performance is good. My car is equipped with a Bose sound system with 10 disc CD changer hidden away. The vehicle is otherwise quiet and rides comfortable but tight. The heads-up display (HUD) allows information to be displayed on the windshield (another useful piece of equipment).
Now for the downside.... Well actually there's no downside, but if I had to I could complain about the ground clearance, but what can one expect from a car that was bred for the racing track? If it was higher, it wouldn't have the handling traits that Corvette owners enjoy. I just love this vehicle!!
