Finalists announced for inaugural World Car of the Year award
From an initial entry list of 36 vehicles chosen from around the globe, the finalists for the inaugural World Car of the Year award were announced this week by the international accounting firm KPMG.
The three vehicles left standing are the Audi A6, Porsche 911and the Volvo S40 / V50. The winner will be announced on February 16 at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto.
A jury of 48 international automotive journalists individually reviewed, evaluated and voted on the entrants by secret ballot in two separate rounds of voting, considering a variety of parameters.
To be eligible for consideration, the vehicle must have been in production and available for purchase in at least five countries on at least two continents prior to January 1, 2005.
