Toronto, Ontario - Sales figures for July show that the Big Three's employee discount programs were effective, reports industry analyst Dennis DesRosiers. GM, Ford and DaimlerChrysler reported substantial increases, with an overall lift in the market of about 28,000 to 30,000 for the month. But incentives are not the entire issue, DesRosiers says; BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Mazda all had impressive months without incentives.

Of the major manufacturers, Toyota, Honda, Suzuki and Subaru were down for the month. The figures for light vehicles are:
