Toronto, Ontario - Toyota has announced that the all-new 2007 Camry Hybrid, the first hybrid in the Camry line-up, is now available at dealers across Canada at a base price of $31,900.

The Camry Hybrid uses Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive (HSD) powertrain, and is designed to exceed the world's most stringent emissions standards, including California's Advanced Technology Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (AT-PZEV) regulations, and achieve fuel economy comparable to subcompact cars. Its estimated fuel consumption ratings are City: 5.7 L/100 km (50 mpg Imp.) and Highway: 5.7 L/100 km (50 mpg Imp.).

The Camry Hybrid uses a 2.4-litre four-cylinder gasoline engine mated to a 105 kW electric drive motor that develops a peak power equivalent of 187 horsepower, coupled to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). It is a "full hybrid", meaning that it is capable of operating in gasoline or electric modes, or a combination of the two.

Standard features include air conditioning, power locks and windows, seven airbags, six-CD/MP3/WMA player, Bluetooth capability, anti-lock brakes, power driver's seat, keyless entry with trunk release, cruise control, heated mirrors and tilt/telescopic wheel. A 'B' Package of options, priced at $35,580, adds four-way power adjustable passenger seat, leather interior, heated seats, power moonroof and dual illuminated vanity mirrors.
