Les 4-cyl. turbo n'ont jamais eu la cote en Amérique du Nord. Les gens préfèrent les V6 dans leur midsize - et avec raison.
On avait comparé le moteur de la Accord V6 qui s'il avait l'injection directe et une boite 6-vit., "matcherait" la consommation de la Sonata 2.0T (22mpgUS en ville c'est pas si bon que ça).
D'ailleurs voici les commentaires d'un vendeur de Hyundai au Tenessee qui est aussi proprio d'une TL.
However, as impressed as I am with the 2.0t, it still sounds like shit (all 4 bangers do, to me at least). I'll happily take the glorious sound of my VTEC screaming over a teensy whoosh and 4 cylinder thrash. Both the 2.4 and the 2.0t, while competent no doubt, sound a bit thrashy near redline, which is the complete opposite of my Acura. I'm half embarrassed to admit this, being a car nut and all, but if I don't watch my tach I'll bump right into the rev limiter in 2nd gear. Happens all the time. In either Sonata, you're gonna damn well know you're nearing redline without having to check the tach.
