Évaluation:
I bought this vehicle with 19,000km on it. I now have 178,000km on it. I've had no major problems at all, but I do look after it very well; change the oil every 5,000km, Rust Check it every year, do all maintenance on time, such as changing the transmission fluid every 50,000km and flushing the coolant regularly etc. The most expensive repair I had was to replace the the front left drive axle, which cost about $250. I also replaced the water pump, for a cost of about $200 and the noisy front stabilizer bar bushings for about $100.
I tow my 2,100 lb boat and have had no transmission issues at all. Pulling power is pretty sad, but I take it slow on the highway and usually drive in "Drive" (ie. not in OD) when pulling the boat. I have the 3.3l engine, which does the job but no more. It revs up pretty high, with only a moderate push on the accelerator, but there's not much thrust there. The kids think it's funny; alot of trying, but not much going! Without the boat, this vehicle cruises at highway speeds (120 km/hr) with ease.
I still have the original rear brakes and have replaced only the front pads. The front rotors are still original. The brakes still perform well with no pulsing. When pulling the boat, I wish I had rear disc brakes, as my brakes are a bit weak for the load.
I have rear heat and AC and with that the heating, air conditioning and defrosting power is very impressive. I have the quad seating (no stow-n-go) and they are very comfortable; even on long trips. I'm 6'2" and I find the drivers seat excellent with excellent support under my thighs. The stereo sounds great (even the teenage kids think so) and the built in DVD system still works great. Road noise is a bit high, compared to my car. Maybe the SXT model is better there.
This vehicle is great in the snow. I put my 4 Michelinen X-ice tires on and have great confidence in all weather. There's no rust at all and the paint still looks like new.
I think this is a great vehicle for the money and I am very happy with it. My previous van was a 1996 Windstar, and the Dodge is a much more reliable and enjoyable vehicle to drive.
