The hydrogen-powered Mazda RX-8
During the fourth quarter of 2006, Mazda delivered five hydrogen-powered RX-8s to two Japanese prefectures, Yamaguchi and Hiroshima, as well as to the City of Hiroshima. Recently, the automaker joined forces with the regional development office of the Hokkaido prefecture to conduct performance tests in cold and winter conditions. These tests were held in Northern Japan, in Muroran and in the surroundings of Noboribetsu, from February 19 to 23, 2007. On the 21, the town of Muroran organized a symposium on the potential of hydrogen in transportation and its environmental benefits.
