It comes topless, too

Pros: Um, everything? It’s a Lambo. It looks like the devil on speed. It has no roof. It’s fast. It’s loud. It’s unapologetically everything your mother warned you about growing up. I want one.

Cons: I can’t afford one, along with most of the population.

2015 Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster Price and Fuel Economy: I think we should all take a moment and laugh a little at the idea of pricing and fuel efficiency in a Lamborghini Aventador Roadster.

OK, now that the moment as passed and we’ve all had a chuckle. Here are some actual numbers: According to Lamborghini, the Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster will average 24.7L/100km in the city and 10.7L/100km on the highway. I’m not so sure how they managed 10.7L/100km on the highway, but I’m going to say the average owner will not garner those kinds of results.

As for the price, well, as mentioned above I sure as hell can’t afford one and here’s why: It starts around $450,000. Yes, you read that correctly.

Go on, have another chuckle.

Changes and Improvements: Since 2011, when it first emerged to the oohs and aahs of auto enthusiasts the world over, the Aventador LP 700-4 has seen little to no changes aesthetically or mechanically. However, there have been a few special editions such as the Aventador J, Dreamliner, and the 50e Anniversario.

This particular Aventador is identical to the coupe version, safe for the nifty little trick it can do: remove its top.

Powertrain: Here’s where it gets interesting, like, really interesting. The 2015 Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 has hiding in its rear a naturally aspirated 6.5L V12. That’ll put 700 horsepower and 509 lb-ft of torque to the tarmac via 4WD, and it’s all controlled with a 7-speed automatic with a dry double clutch plate.

Can we all say: “Yum.”

Max speed is 350km/hr, and you’ll hit the 100km/hr mark from a standstill in under 3 seconds. There’s a near 50/50 weight distribution and stopping is handled via a dual hydraulic circuit brake system that features 6-cylinder brake calipers in the front, 4-cylinder in the rear.

Cargo Capacity: Yeah, we’re not gonna bother with this one here.

Safety: All manner of safety features are present on the 2015 Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4.

Comparing the 2015 Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4: Ferrari 458 Spider, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG roadster, Corvette Stingray Convertible.
