Nothing scary about this spirit

Pros: The scariest thing about this Ghost may be the price, otherwise it’s a feat in engineering and design and an absolutely pleasure to behold and drive. It’s pure opulence on four wheels.

Cons: The price truly is hair-raising, and I’ll never be able to afford one or the driver I’d need to chauffeur me around in it.

2015 Rolls-Royce Ghost Price and Fuel Economy: Speaking of that harrowing price, let’s get to it, shall we? There are two versions of the Ghost available, the Series II and the Series II Long Wheelbase. Pricing starts around the $300,000 mark and only goes up from there. But, oh, the splendor of it all…

As for fuel efficiency numbers, well I’m sure if you’re the uber proud owner of a RR Ghost you care very little about the cost of gas or how much your V12 twin-turbo is burning in the process, but I’ll dish anyways. The RR Ghost averages 17.3L/100km in the city and 10.5L/100km on the highway.

Powertrain: At 5,490lbs you’d better hope this diamond-collared puppy comes with an engine powerful enough to get it going, and don’t you worry: it does. Equipped with a 6.6L turbocharged V12 mill, the 2015 Rolls-Royce Ghost cars offer up 563 horsepower and 575 lb-ft of torque. That means the land-yacht RR Ghost will glide to 100km/hr from a standstill in just 5 seconds.

Power is sent to the rear wheels and is handled via an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Changes and Improvements: Changes for the 2015 Rolls-Royce Ghost family members include aesthetic enhancements like re-designed LED headlights, re-sculpted bumpers and hood to emulate the Spirit of Ecstasy wings, various chrome accents, new optional 21” forged wheels and standard 19” wheels, etc. Interior upgrades include features such as electronically adjustable thigh supports and depth adjustment, new clock fascia, and more Bespoke options for interior trims. In terms of drive, Rolls-Royce re-engineered front and rear struts and adjusted damping to increase the Ghost’s cornering abilities.

And a big addition for 2015 is most definitely the introduction of Satellite Aided Transmission that incorporates GPS and mapping data to control gear changes while you’re driving.

Cargo Capacity: Five people will fit in your Rolls-Royce Ghost (if they’re worthy of entering, of course), and the trunk will swallow 490L of goods.

Safety: The 2015 Rolls-Royce Ghost is equipped with all manner of standard safety equipment and airbags.

Comparing the 2015 Rolls-Royce Ghost: Bentley Flying Spur, Maserati Quattroporte, Mercedes-Benz SLS-Class.
