Unsurprisingly, SUVs are kings

Similar to past editions, the 2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit was highlighted by a large number of significant product launches. Many of you have followed our coverage of the event.

Without further ado, here is a compilation of the 10 most read articles on Auto123.com:

The Nissan Qashqai was like a big surprise for the automotive press in attendance. A hot seller in Europe, this small urban SUV will be seen on Canadian roads as early as this coming spring, joining Nissan’s utility-vehicle roster somewhere between the JUKE and the Rogue.

The next-generation Volkswagen Tiguan is debuting a long version that can sit up to seven people. This model will be successively launched in North America, China, and Europe from as early as late spring.

The all-new 2018 Chevy Traverse and GMC Terrain are scheduled to arrive on the Canadian market in the second half of this year. The former emphasizes space and technology, and adds two new trim levels, while the latter offers greater refinement and versatility along with a choice of three all-new turbocharged engines.

The new 2018 Ford F-150 received a major mid-cycle update that makes it even tougher, even smarter, and even more capable than ever. Styling has been enhanced, and the revised engine lineup includes a brand new, direct-injected 3.3L gasoline V6 and a new 3.0L Power Stroke turbo-diesel V6.

The all-new, eighth-generation 2018 Toyota Camry will arrive on the market in late summer 2017. The striking exterior design is quite impressive, while the interior is roomier, more comfortable, and more ergonomic while offering better outward visibility than before. Three new engines will be available.

The 2018 Lexus LS 500  flagship luxury sedan reinvents itself for its fifth generation. Longer and lower than the outgoing model, the all-new LS debuts a strikingly bold design with a coupe-like silhouette punctuated by the new Lexus design language. A 3.5L twin-turbo V6 replaces the old V8, while a driver-centric performance feel comes from the company’s all-new global architecture for luxury vehicles (GA–L).

The highly anticipated 2018 Kia Stinger finally made its world debut in Detroit. This 5-passenger fastback sports sedan is poised to challenge European automakers like Audi and BMW. Don’t miss the videos!

Performance cars didn’t take a back seat at the 2017 NAIAS, obviously. The refreshed 2018 Subaru WRX and WRX STI will make a lot of driving enthusiasts happy when they arrive at Subaru dealers across Canada later this year. Click on the link to discover their various upgrades.

Meanwhile, FCA announced the upcoming launch of the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, which will be even more powerful and explosive than the Hellcat!

As for concepts and prototypes on display in the Motor City, the Volkswagen I.D. BUZZ became a hot topic on social media. This Microbus for a new era is a cool way to forge links between the origins of the Volkswagen brand and its electric cars of the future.
