Porsche 911
The newest incarnation of the mythical German sports car attains an unprecedented level of excellence. Still available in coupe, convertible and Targa formats, it surges past its own stratospheric performance standards. For those discerning drivers out there who know just what they want, the 911 also comes in a wide-ranging choice of trims and engine configurations. Driving dynamics are simply superb, and for the price it competes favourably with more expensive exotic cars. Of the three finalists in this category, it is the one true sports coupe. Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat/Challenger SRT Demon
The 707-hp Challenger SRT Hellcat continues to serve up the unexpected, with a new Widebody version that offers more stability at high speed. Of course, Dodge has gone a step further by unleashing the all-new Challenger SRT Demon, which generates a hallucinatory 840 hp by using 100-octane race fuel. Nothing less than the most explosive and fastest muscle car ever devised, it does the 0-100 km/h in 2.3 seconds (!), and the quarter-mile in 9.65 seconds. Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio
Here we have a typically Italian, sublimely designed sport sedan. Its 2.9L twin-turbo V6, delivering 505 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque, is the most powerful production engine Alfa Romeo has ever created, and also the fastest: it takes all of 3.8 seconds to accelerate from 0-100 km/h.
