Even more seductive for driving enthusiasts

Canadian BMW dealerships will later this month welcome into their showrooms the new 2018 BMW 2 Series in both coupe and cabriolet versions, both of which have been updated with a number of significant interior and exterior changes.

The coupe will be available in the 230i, M240i and M2 versions (the first two with the choice of rear-wheel drive or xDrive all-wheel drive), while the convertible will be offered in the 230i and M240i (the all-wheel drive base trim only).

Muscular...
Fitted under the hood of the 2018 BMW M240i is a 3.0L 6-cylinder in-line engine with direct injection and a twin-scroll turbocharger. Deliverable power for this motor is 340 hp and torque is 369 lb-ft, accessible between 1,500 and 4,500 RPMs.

For their part, the 2018 BMW 230i models will be powered by a 2.0L 4-cylinder, also with direct injection and the twin-scroll turbocharger, giving them access to 248 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque.

BMW is offering a standard 6-speed manual transmission for all rear-wheel drive models, with an 8-speed Steptronic automatic gearbox available as an option. A dual-clutch transmission will accompany the 370-hp engine of the 2018 BMW M2.

...yet stylish
Other notable features include an upgraded suspension, a reworked and more aggressive front end that incorporates new LED headlights (which can be made adaptive as an option) and new light-alloy wheels, as well as a new available exterior colour (Sunset Orange) for a total of eight possibilities. As well, the M Sport Package is now offered standard in all version of the BMW 2 Series.

BMW is also promising that much care was taken to upgrade the interior of the 2 Series. The dashboard has been fully revised and enriched with new materials. The standard black leatherette upholstery is upgraded to Dakota leather in the higher trims.

We’ll be updating this page as soon as Canadian pricing is announced for the new 2 Series.
