The votes have been counted, and the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada has just announced the top finalists in each of the four main categories for the 2009 Car of the Year awards.
This year's Car Of The Year field has been narrowed down to the Hyundai Genesis, Mazda 6 and Toyota Corolla- a wide spread of contenders ranging from luxurious and powerful to sensible and miserly.
The title of Canada's Utility Vehicle of the Year will belong to either the redesigned Subaru Forester, Mercedes ML-Class or Ford's uniquely styled new Flex crossover.
The Honda Fit, Jaguar XF Supercharged and Volkswagen's sleek and sexy 4-seat Passat CC round up the Best New Design category.
The Best New Technology award category is comprised of GM's OnStar Stolen Vehicle Slowdown System, Infiniti's Around-View Monitor and Mitsubishi's performance-enhancing Super All Wheel Control system.
The final winner of each category will be announced at the Toronto International Auto Show next month.
