Next January Fiat Chrysler will use the platform of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to introduce a 100%-electric version of its new Pacifica hybrid, as well as a fully electric Maserati concept designed to challenge the Tesla. A report published by Bloomberg claims FCA is intent on erasing the lag it has accumulated in developing electric vehicles in relation to other manufacturers.

Ever-stricter emissions regulations being implemented around the world and the recent troubles surrounding diesel engines have contributed to accelerating the development of hybrid and all-electric vehicles, and Fiat Chrysler is no exception. According to automotive website Breezcar, even Ferrari, an FCA property, is getting into the game, and expects to make hybrid technology commonplace in its cars after 2019.
