2000 Maserati Quattroporte Evoluzione - One of the World's Ultimate Sport Sedans

The modern 4porte is easily one of the world's ultimate sport sedans. True to Maserati form, the Quattroporte is one of the most exciting luxury/sport sedans to arrive on this planet, ever. If not one of the big boys in the schoolyard from total sales, Maserati more than makes up for it in exclusivity, absolute power, its thrill-of-a-lifetime handling and art-nouveau styling.

For the time being the Quattroporte is not available in North America, but let's not let that stop us from appreciating it for what it is. Its European competitors are few, and include the BMW M5, Jaguar XKR and the.... well, maybe the Mercedes E-55AMG. Honestly though, only two of these sport sedans can be called 'sport sedans' as only the Maserati and BMW offer a manual transmission... a 'sport' prerequisite in my humble opinion. Having owned and tested many BMW's, I have to say that I am slightly biased when comparing big buck executive conveyances. I am absolutely in love with the Euro-spec M3 and M5. Yet, being the passionate owner of a '67 Maserati Mexico... well, I have to admit that I'm a true Maseratisti as well. There are very few manufacturers who come close to creating what Maserati has in the 4porte... a true mix of pure bred sports sedan and opulent luxury tourer. This argument is well founded as well, with 370-hp on tap, a manual transmission, and fine luxury appointments.
