2004 Mazda 6 - It Looks Good But Does It Go?

Mazda seems to have found its feet lately, bringing to market a bevy of new vehicles to stir the collective soul of automotive enthusiasts. But they're not only preaching to the converted, Mazda is starting to make driving enthusiasts out of strictly pragmatic purchasers.

The 6 is Mazda's latest infusion, replacing the aged and seasoned 626 and upscale Millenia in one fell swoop. On its rakish good looks alone the new model should be a giant seller compared to the rather dowdy midsize 626, but there's more to it than mere appearances.

How do they do it? The formula is simple really. Offer stylish, performance-oriented cars at reasonably low prices. But as in most cases there's a lot more to executing a worthwhile ideal than merely conceptualizing it. Specifically it comes down to the Japanese company's combination of superior engineering and parent company Ford's deep pockets.
