A Ferrari Challenge car is one that has been modified for track use. The F355 and F360 received this treatment in the past and now, it is the F430's turn. The powertrain of the Challenge is unchanged from the regular F430 save for the modified 5th and 6th gears for optimal track use. The principal difference is the reduction of the car's kerb weight. The windshield is now made of Lexan, the intake plenum is made of carbon fibre and the car now has a specific exhaust system for the car's applications. Other changes include a mechanical differential and brake force distribution. Pirelli has developed specific 19" tires for the car. Other signs of the Challenge's vocation are the permanently disengaged traction and stability control and sole race setting for the transmission, ABS and ASR.Ferrari has annouced that it will establish a driving school at Circuit Mont-Tremblant, Quebec.
