Following the announcement made a few weeks ago on the 2007 ecoAUTO incentive program, Transport Canada has now done the same for 2006 model year cars. The list is very similar to the 2007 one except for the addition of the diesel-powered cars that are not offered in 2007 because of the new Ultra-low sulphur emission regulations.
Here is the list and the rebates:
Toyota Prius Rebate: $2000
smart fortwo CDI Rebate: $2000
Honda Civic Hybrid Rebate: $2000
Volkswagen New Beetle and Golf TDI (Diesel) Rebate: $20005-speed Manual
Volkswagen Jetta and Jetta Wagon TDI (Diesel) Rebate: $15005-Speed Manual
Volkswagen Jetta and New Beetle TDI (Diesel) Rebate: $15006-speed Automatic with Manual Mode
Toyota Yaris and Corolla Rebate: $10005-speed Manual
Volkswagen Jetta Wagon and Golf TDI (Diesel) Rebate: $10005-speed Automatic with Manual Mode
Toyota Yaris Rebate: $10004-Speed Automatic
Lexus RX 400H and Toyota Highlander Hybrid 4x4 Rebate: $1500
