crossover will be the first one once 2007 rolls around. Expected in the first quarter of 2007, the CUV (crossover utility vehicle) will be assembled in Korea and be positioned as a notch above the redesigned Santa Fe. Among the specs of the new vehicle will be the 3.8L V6 from the Entourage and a new 6-speed automatic transmission and optional AWD (probably standard in Canada). The Veracruz will offer seating for 7 passengers and more interior volume than a Mercedes-Benz GL. The 50/50 split third row bench will fold flat into the cargo floor. Safety features will include stability control, side and side curtain airbags for all three rows.

The interior looks to be very luxurious and well appointed with wood and leather trim. Much of the centre console seems to be inspired by Toyota and Lexus. The exterior styling depicts smooth flowing lines without being to imposing. The Veracruz will be officially unveiled at the 2007 Detroit auto show.
