Toyota wants to stay in the full-size pickup race, and there was only one way to do it: make the Tundra bigger.And big it is. The Tundra is now pretty much the same size as the domestics. It will be offered in three body styles: Regular Cab, Double Cab and Crew Max.The latter has four doors like the Double Cab, but the rear ones are larger and its 4,895-kilogram (10,800-lb) towing capacity will be greater than with other Tundra models. Toyota claims class-leading rear-seat legroom, more than Dodge's Ram Mega Cab.
There are 31 model configurations for the new Tundra, including 4x2 and 4x4 versions.Power will come from a new 5.7-liter V8 that produces 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque, which is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. A 4.7-liter V8 will also power the other Tundra models.The new Tundra will go on sale in Canada in February.
