2009 Ford Edge Sport rolls out at Chicago

By ,

Someone had to be first. Ford realized that nobody currently offers a sport-focused crossover in the same class as their Edge. In order to call 'firsties', they've created a new model called the Ford Edge Sport. It's a blingin' family-hauler that's set to debut at the Chicago Auto Show, and it's actually going on sale, too.
A 2009 model-year vehicle, Edge Sport provides a specialized buyer with a factory-quality upgrade kit that's designed and built specially for the machine. Many modifications set it apart from the standard model- including an 8-piece body kit and smoked headlights and taillamps. Special badging is applied, as are bright-finished chrome exhaust tips in back. The entire package rolls on a set of 20 or 22-inch wheels with low-profile Pirelli Scorpion tires. It's a look straight out of your teenagers favorite rap video."The new Ford Edge Sport is designed to instantly appeal to crossover customers who want a sportier custom look and feel," said John Felice, general manager of Ford. "This specialty design reflects the growing popularity of personalization and more customers' interest in industry shows like the annual Hot Import Nights around the country and the Specialty Equipment Market Association Show in Las Vegas."Edge sport goes on sale this fall.
