Acura's popular TL has been re-designed, re-styled, packaged with new features and given a boost in performance. It's available in two distinctive models for the
2009 model year- with pricing starting under $40,000.The standard TL will now boast a 3.5 liter, 280 horsepower V6 engine and front wheel drive, while the new
TL SH-AWD model puts the automakers advanced all wheel drive system to work for shoppers after more traction and performance.
The TL SH-AWD comes with a 3.7 liter V6 that generates 305 horsepower- making it the most powerful factory TL model ever. TL SH-AWD also gets performance suspension and brakes, larger wheels and a specially tuned power steering system to help dial up feedback and driver involvement.Despite the available performance, TL meets TIER 2 BIN 5 ULEV emissions standards, and is expected to deliver
fuel economy ratings as low as 7.5L / 100km. A five-speed automatic transmission with paddle-shift is standard on each model. No manual transmission is available.Pricing starts at $39,990 for the TL, which can carry a technology package for an additional $3,500. TL SH-AWD starts at $44,490, and comes in at $47,990 with the Technology Package.The 2009 TL will be on sale in the very near future.
