To stay competitive in the high-end luxury segment, Jaguar is updating the engine bays of both the XK and XF models.
The XK Portfolio coupe and convertible, which will be the base models, get a 5.0-litre V8 in replacement of the old 4.2-litre unit, producing 385 hp and 385 lb-ft of torque. 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) acceleration times are reduced to 5.2 seconds. The revised
XKR will feature a supercharged version of the same engine, bolting out 510 horses and 461 lb-ft of torque, good for 0-60 mph times of 4.6 seconds.Both
XK trims receive a new front end, LED taillights and a rear lower spoiler. Inside, the JaguarDrive transmission selector that was introduced in the XF sedan will make its way into the XK.The 2010 base XF keeps the 300-hp, 4.2-litre V8, while Premium and new Portfolio versions get the 385-hp, 5.0-litre V8. The XFR is also new and includes the XKR's 510-hp engine that allows the car to sprint to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds. The R variant also receives a sportier exterior appearance with air intakes and a rear spoiler as well as unique seats and 20-inch alloys.
