Set to make its market debut in early 2011, the wraps were taken off of the brand-new Audi A6. Although the manufacturer claims a choice of 5 engine options available in Europe, it is more likely that North American versions will be powered by the same 300-horsepower, supercharged 3.0-litre V6 that is used in the current-generation car. It was also told that a hybrid version will be available at a later date.
Transmission choices in North America should include the continuously-variable multitronic and the s-tronic dual-clutch automated gearbox. Front-drive and all-wheel drive quattro variants will still be offered.
Esthetically speaking, the complete redesign of the A6 gives it an obvious family resemblance with the smaller A4 and bigger A8 . Inside, the 2012 A6 will feature a new-generation MMI (Multimedia Interface), an optional head-up display and a Bang & Olufsen Advanced Sound System.
