After months of anticipation and speculation, we finally know what the 2013 Ford Mustang will look like. The company shed further light on the new model just hours before its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

A larger, more aggressive front grille reminiscent of the Shelby GT500, body-coloured rocker panels, and a high-gloss black panel that connects the newly smoked taillights all add swagger to the 2013 Mustang.

Two new paint colours will join the current selection including Deep Impact Blue and Gotta Have It Green, while all of the wheel designs (ranging from 17'' to 19'') have been updated.

A cool new feature of the 2013 Ford Mustang is a function that projects the famous pony emblem on the ground via the side mirrors when the unlock button is pushed.

Inside, a new 4.2'' LCD display will provide drivers with information about fuel economy and vehicle performance.

For 2013, the 5.0L V8 engine in the Ford Mustang GT will generate 420 horsepower (or 8 more than the previous model). Buyers will be able to specify a 6-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift, while manually equipped versions will come standard with hill-start assist.

The 2013 Ford Mustang is scheduled to go on sale next spring.
