2013 Nissan GT-R: Godzilla more merciless than ever

By ,

Like a fine wine, the Nissan GT-R simply gets better with age. According to the latest info, the car will benefit from a not-inconsiderable boost in the power department as well as a few changes that will ensure an exquisite 2013 vintage.

Though performance-wise it’s already on par with the sublime Ferrari 458 Italia, Audi R8 and Porsche Cayman R, the GT-R will see its current 530-head stable increase by at least 40 extra ponies.

The suspension and transmission will be revised, the undercarriage redesigned to improve aerodynamics and the CO2 emissions reduced.

So we can expect the mad 0-100 km/h dash, currently under three seconds, to become even madder. The more optimistic will tell you the GT-R might even join the prestigious 2-second club.

We’ll get a better idea of Godzilla’s capabilities in October, as Nissan plans on taking it around the famous Nürburgring a few times, that barometer of the sports car world.
